Faucat (FAUCAT) is an experimental digital asset dispensed from a faucet that is, for reasons no one has been able to explain, attached to the head of a small orange cat. It was created without intended utility, functional objectives, or economic guarantees, and participants should assume that it may have no value and may lose all value permanently. The cat explicitly rejects promises of usefulness, adoption, price appreciation, or continuity, and nothing it dispenses should be interpreted as an investment, store of value, or financial instrument.
Distribution occurs through a limited faucet mechanism operating in fixed intervals. At each interval the cat opens the tap and a bounded quantity is divided at random among participants present in the bucket, after which the bucket is emptied and participation must be renewed. The faucet operates on a fixed, pre-poured reserve, meaning that total distribution remains mathematically limited and eventually reaches exhaustion, at which point the tap runs dry and the cat goes back to sitting.

As with early experimental digital currencies, this implies that some participants may receive a flood while others receive a trickle, and no participant is guaranteed access or outcome. Participants operating several wallets are tolerated but silently judged. Faucat provides no yield, no governance rights, no claim on assets, and no commitment to maintenance, development, or availability, and the system may be altered, paused, or abandoned at any time without notice, including when the cat falls asleep.

Participation is entirely voluntary and undertaken solely at the user's own risk, with the explicit understanding that the expected value of holding or interacting with Faucat may be zero or negative when accounting for time, fees, and uncertainty. Any value attributed to it, if any, arises only from collective behavior rather than from design intent, guarantees, or promised functionality. The cat is not aware of any of this.
